OUTSIDE SALES PERSON

Elliott Electric Supply in West Monroe, LA is seeking a full-time Outside Sales Person. Outside Sales Staff are highly compensated professionals that serve as the “face” of Elliott Electric Supply by developing and maintaining positive relationships with both new and existing customers. Outside Sales Staff are responsible for creating demand and closing profitable orders. Compensation is commission-based offering the Outside Sales Person the ability to earn well contingent on personal motivation, sales skills and industry/product knowledge.

Outside Sales Person responsibilities include the following:

• Ability to work with a variety of industry end-users including contractors, engineers and facility maintenance personnel

• Developing and maintaining business with new and existing customers via daily contact including face-to-face, phone and email communication

• Consistently calling on customers to ensure continual communication and to explore additional quoting opportunities

• Keeping customers updated on current product offerings and providing product literature/catalogs

• Suggesting product and technical assistance to customers

• Providing product specification and/or substitutions for bid or negotiated projects

• Coordinating accounts, sales goals and profits goals with store manager

• Working effectively and politely with inside sales and counter staff

Qualifications:

The ideal Outside Sales Person will possess the following qualifications:

• Three or more years of experience in the electrical industry with at least two of those being in sales

• Excellent customer service and sales skills

• Extensive electrical product knowledge

• Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills

• High level of self-motivation

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Basic computer knowledge

• Ability to read architectural/engineering drawings

• A clean, neat and professional appearance

• Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
